The parachute is best known as an item of military equipment use for drooping armed soldiers and supplies into the field of combat. Since discovered in the 19 th century, the parachute has come to be valued as a highly effective means of defeating defensive blockades from the vertical direction. Its development has been long and intricate. It might have been even longer had it's not been for World War One, World War Two, and the conflicts that followed. Warfare spurred the development of parachute technology as a mean of getting soldiers to the operational area by air.
